Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League new comers, Ekiti Angels, Oluyole Babes and Coal City Queens are currently facing relegation from the elite Nigeria basketball league following their poor run in the ongoing league so far.
Though the trio recorded victories in the league holding in Abuja yesterday, it may not be enough to keep them in the division.
The other teams that might not survive relegation are Taraba Hurricanes, Zamfara Babes and Plateau Rocks.
In some matches decided yesterday, Plateau Rocks recorded their first victory by beating Taraba Hurricanes 67-20 points, Delta Force outpointed Zamfara 50-24, while Oluyole also defeated Ekiti by 48-27points.
Six teams will be dropped at the end of the second phase of the competition next month.
In the top of the bill match played yesterday, First Bank were leading Adolescent Health and Information Projects (AHIP) Queens 79-21 as at press time.
It will be Nasarawa against First Deep Water today, FCT square up against Coal City, GT2000 face IGP Queens, Plateau battle AHIP Queens, Delta confront Sunshine, while Ekiti will be up against Benue.
