A chief in Okemesi-Ekiti in Ekiti West LGA of Ekiti State, Gbenga Oyewole, has been disrobed by the Owa-Oye in Council.
The decision to relieve Oyewole of his title was reached at the statutory council meeting of the Owa-Ooye in Council held at the council chambers on March 20.
A statement made public by the council reads in part: “That you Honourary Chief Gbenga Oyewole have been relieved of your appointment as Olori Odo of Okemesi.

“That this decision was made by the council due to your acts of gross misconduct which have brought about undue embarrassment to the council.
“That by this letter, you have been de-recognised by the Owa Ooye in Council and should henceforth stop parading yourself as Olori Odo of Okemesi Ekiti.”
