Ekiti man charged with stealing of 17 kegs of palm oil

A 30- year old man, Babalola Ayodeji Ezekiel, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, for allegedly stealing 17 kegs of palm oil valued at N558,500. 

The prosecutor, Inspector Olubu Apata, told the court that the defendant and two others at large stole the oil from one Mrs. Adeuya Taiwo.

Inspector Apata said the offence was punishable under Section 422, 302(1)(a) of the  Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Gboyega Abiola, urged the court to grant his client bail.

Chief Magistrate Kehinde Awosika granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with  two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till April 16 for hearing.
