The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Mrs Yemi Oyebanji, has condemned the high rate of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the state, advising culprits to retrace their steps.
Mrs Oyebanji noted that the high rate of GBV in the state would be addressed to have a sane Ekiti.
Also, the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Olubunmi Adelugba, in his speech at the special plenary on “Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Ekiti State”, condemned the high rate of GBV in the state despite the robust legislative and policy interventions.
Adelugba pointed out that sexual and domestic violence appeared to continue unabated in various communities across the state.

He said, “GBV is a crime against individuals, society and humanity. We must all join hands together to stop it; we must all rise and work together to fight and end the rape epidemic in Ekiti State.”
