Ekiti governorship: Tribunal upholds Fayemi’s election

The Ekiti State Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state.

A three-member panel of justices presided over by Justice Suleiman Belgore on Monday dismissed the petition by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Kolapo Olusola in the July 14, 2018 governorship election.

In a six-hour judgement, Justice Belgore said the petitioners failed to provide evidence of alleged non-compliance with the Electoral Act and irregularities in the election.
