Ekiti: Court dissolves marriage over battery, lack of care

A 12-year-old marriage has been dissolved by a customary court in Ado-Ekiti over battery and lack of care for the children.

The petitioner, Mrs Ayodele Oluwakemi (38), had prayed the court to dissolve her marriage with Mr Ayodele Ojo, citing lack of care for the children: Ayodele blessing (11), Samuel (8) and Motunrayo (4).

She told the court that the respondent was in the habit of beating her anytime he was drunk and that they had been living apart since 2018 when he battered her and she was hospitalised.
