The Nigeria Football Federation, in a statement in Abuja said eight teams will take part in this year’s competition, from four teams that were involved in the inaugural event last year.
Coordinator of the event, Taye Olajide of Sports Solutions said yesterday that Fidelity Bank Strikers, Aso Savings and Loans FC, Sterling Bank FC and Anambra Beach Soccer FC are among teams participating.
Others are Team Kaduna, Nasarawa Beach Soccer FC, Kogi Confluence Beach Boys and Team FCT.
Matches will take place at the brand-new Beach Soccer Pitch, Accra Street, Zone 5, Abuja.
Expected at today’s opening ceremony are the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Chairman of the House of Reps’ Committee on Sports, Hon. Godfrey Gaiya and Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon, Gbenga Elegbeleye.
