As Muslim faithful in Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Kabir festival, Globacom has urged them to celebrate with love and abide by the teachings of the Holy Quran.

The company, in a press statement in Lagos, urged the Muslim Ummah to take advantage of the celebration and pray for peace and unity of the country as well as the end of Covid-19, the global pandemic.

“We rejoice with the Muslim Ummah as they celebrate the Eid-El-Kabir festival. We call on them to use the occasion to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith through acts of charity, peaceful co-existence with their neighbours and obedience to the injunctions of the Holy Quoran,” the statement said.

It urged the faithful to celebrate moderately and obey the safety rules of Covid-19, including staying at home, observing social distancing, washing hands regularly and using hand sanitisers.

Globacom advised them to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and submission to laid down laws as was seen in Prophet Ibraheem who submitted by sacrificing his son in obedience to the will of God, a supreme act of faith which Eid-El-Kabir represents.

Globacom stated that “It is a season of charity, peace-making and forgiveness. We must use this season to remember to care for the poor and the needy in line with Allah’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper”.

While wishing Muslim faithful very happy Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the company assured those on the Glo network of quality service delivery during the holidays and beyond.

Eid-El-Kabir, also known as Eid-al-Adha or Feast of the Sacrifice, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

The celebrations start after the Hajj, when the pilgrims to Mecca in Saudi Arabia descend from Mount Arafat.
