To advance technology in Nigeria and strengthen the power sector, Nigeria’s largest power Generation Company (GenCo), Egbin Power Plc, has launched a six-month internship programme tagged Egbin PowerUp designed to deepen students’ understanding of the industry while fostering innovation and excellence.
The GenCo said the initiative would provide students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria with the opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience while working alongside seasoned professionals at its power plant.
It said that the plant not only equipped students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, but also enhanced their skills, built their confidence and sharpened their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Through real-world projects, students apply academic concepts in a professional setting, gaining invaluable experience.
