Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), have arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The suspects were arrested in a sting operation in their hideouts following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related offences, the anti-graft commission said.
In a statement, Wednesday night by the head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations
He said, “Items recovered from them include nine exotic cars, two bikes, laptops, smartphones as well as charms.”
City & Crime gathered that the latest arrest involved mostly young men of school age who were also allegedly involved in fraudulent pranks.
Last month, the commission in two separate operations, arrested about 100 persons over suspected Internet fraud at different locations within Ilorin.
