EFCC arraigns four over Internet crime, forgery in Ogun

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday arraigned four suspects before a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State for charges bordering on forgery, false representation, obtaining money under false pretence and Internet-related offences.

The suspects who were arraigned by Ibadan zonal office of the EFCC are  Agbomabiwon Abiodun, Bourdilon Moses Abiodun, Ibrahim Adenekan and Muyideen Safi Omolaja.

Due to the ‘not guilty’ plea by the four suspects to their respective charges, counsel to the EFCC, Murtala Usman, prayed the court for trial dates and order to remand the accused persons in prison custody.

The judge, Justice Abubakar Shittu granted the prayer as he adjourned the case to May 22 for trial and/or plea bargain and ordered that Agbomabiwon remains in the custody till the date.

Bourdilon and Adenekan were granted bail in the sum of N2million each, with two sureties in like sum and their cases were adjourned to May 22 and 27 respectively.

In the case of Omolaja, the matter was adjourned to May 27 for trail and/or plea bargain. He was ordered to be remanded in prison.
