The Earth Environment And Climate Care Ambassadors (EECCA) said it has concluded plans to plant trees across the 44 local government areas in Kano to address environmental degradation and health challenges in communities.
Mr. John Owoloja, the association’s ambassador, Kano State chapter, disclosed this in an event in Kano.
“We will officially flag off one trillion trees planting project, with theme ‘plant for the planet’ in Abuja, February 2021. This will proffer permanent solution to global climate change as forest establishment is revealed to the best nature base solution to climate change and global warming.
“In Kano, aside planting trees in the 44 local government areas , we will also provide employment opportunities for people who will look after the tress. We are determined to ensure that no single tree is wasted,” he said.
He appealed to government and the general public to take part in the project and contribute in addressing global climate change.
