The State Coordinator, Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Maryam Sani Dangaje, has said educating girl child will help eradicate poverty in society.
According to her, girl child need to be allowed to showcase their potential by being empowered with skills and education.
The state coordinator who disclosed this at a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Kaduna, called on parents to enrol their gild child in school.
“Research has shown that educating a gild child will eradicate poverty within household and the community.
“Educate the girl child and you eradicate poverty. She needs to be educated with quality education to achieve her potential,” she said
She said AGILE, in the last eight months, has prioritized the provision of WASH facilities (clean toilets and portable water) to secondary schools in the state.
The coordinator also said so far, a total of 507 toilets have been renovated with 1,555 toilets con-structed.
