A Professor with the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Prof M. A. Izibili and four others have been kidnapped at Ubiaja Esan South East local government area of the state by gunmen.
It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped along Ubiaja – Ewatto road on Sunday.

City & Crime further learnt that the lecturer with the department of Philosophy was coming from a marriage ceremony at Uromi alongside others when they were kidnapped.
It was gathered that the gunmen emerged from the bush, forced their vehicle to stop and dragged them into the bush.
Source said the kidnappers are demanding N10 million ransoms from the family of the professor.
The Chairman, Ambrose Alli University of chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASSU), Cyril Onogbosele, confirmed the incident.
He said the lecturer was kidnapped over the weekend on his way back to Ekpoma from a ceremony between Ubiaja and Ewohimi.
The Edo state police public relations officer, SP Kontongs Bello, also confirmed the incident.
He said police are working round the clock to ensure that they are release unhurt.
