The Edo State Commissioner for Mining and Energy, Dr Ojeifoh Enaholo, has disclosed that the state will commence the use of electric buses as a means of transportation between February and March this year after sealing a deal for a wind energy project with a capacity of 175 megawatts.
Enaholo, who stated this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Edo State Government and Oando Clean Energy, explained that with the pact, Oando would provide five electric buses for the pilot phase to enable it (Oando) and the government have a seasonal data on the performance of the environmental dynamics.
Daily Trust reports that the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie, signed the MOU on behalf of the government while Mr Ademola Ogunbajor, the Executive Vice President of Oando, signed for the company.
