The Commissioner of Finance, Edo State, John Inegbedion, has disclosed that the state’s internally-generated revenue has risen to N3bn monthly.
Speaking during the Quarterly Performance Review Meeting in Benin, Inegbedion said the EIRS met its target of generating N3bn monthly from the N2.8bn recorded in the first three months of 2022.

He commended the Ministries of Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Development, and Education, as well as the Edo Geographical Information Service (Edo-GIS) for the collaboration that yielded improvements in their respective collections.
According to him, necessary measures are being put in place to improve efficiency in revenue administration, particularly in blocking revenue leakages.
Inegbedion commended Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, for the immense support to the service in ensuring the achievement of its mandate of revenue generation for the overall benefit of the state.
