Edo sacks market waste manager

The Edo State Government has ordered the removal of Imose Cleaning and Facility Management Company as the waste manager in charge of Oregbeni Market, in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of the state.

The commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Engr Jonathan Lawani, said “There had been a series of complaints from traders and residents in the market and its environs, which is within the area of responsibility of the company. Imose does not evacuate waste on time, even after collecting fees.”

He said the state government would not spare anyone who is thwarting the effort in ensuring that the state is clean, adding that the sack of the waste manager will serve as a deterrent to those who renege on their duties.
