Edo primary: Oshiomhole’s anointed candidate protests at APC headquarters, threatens court action

One of the governorship aspirants in the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Edo State, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has led a protest to the national secretariat of the party, in Abuja, demanding “justice.”

Idahosa, who was initially declared winner of the primary election by then chairman of the APC primary election Committee, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, also threatened to sue the party if justice was not done.

He was said to be anointed candidate of former national chairman of the APC and erstwhile governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole.

He, however, appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rein in the National Working Committee (NWC).

Addressing newsmen at the main gate of the APC national secretariat, Idahosa said he had submitted a protest letter to the APC governorship appeal committee, adding that he would take his time to go through the process after which he would proceed to court.

He said, “I am not here to make trouble, I am a lawmaker but one thing that we want is justice. Today, I might be a young man but it might be the children of NWC members tomorrow. We have to do the right thing. If we continue to do what is wrong as a country, we are not going to move forward.

“So I am calling on Mr. President to call NWC to order. Elections were held on the 17th of February. What they did on the 22nd was just selection.”
