In a prestigious ceremony held at the Doctors’ House, Ugbowo, the Edo State Branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) celebrated the remarkable achievements of Dr Andrew Eigbedion by inducting him into the Association’s Hall of Fame.

Other inductees, medical professionals, dignitaries, and well-wishers attended the event.

Dr Eigbedion, a seasoned and dedicated healthcare professional, has made significant contributions to the medical field over the years.

His unwavering commitment to patient care, medical research, and community health initiatives has earned him recognition and respect among his peers.
During the induction ceremony, the Chairperson of the Edo State NMA, Dr Imoisili Udoka, spoke highly of Dr Eigbedion’s exemplary career and the positive impact he has had on the healthcare landscape in the region.

She highlighted Dr Eigbedion’s leadership in various medical projects, his role in advancing medical education, and his compassionate approach to patient care.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Eigbedion expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him. He shared insights from his journey in Medicine, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of his colleagues and the support of his family throughout his career.

“I thank everyone who has supported me one way or the other,” he said.
I’m inspired by one of the quotes of the world-renowned Lawn Tennis legend Arthur Ashe who said that ‘start where you are; use what you have and do what you can’. I believe that to become great, one needs to do ordinary things passionately, conscientiously, and correctly irrespective of who is watching.”

Dr Eigbedion was Head Boy of his 1986 set of pupils of the University Primary School Ekpoma where he graduated with Distinction in the Primary School Certificate Examination of that year.

He graduated in 1992 as the Senior Prefect and Best graduating Student of the University Secondary School, Ekpoma.

He attended and graduated from the University of Benin College of Medicine in January, 2003 (The Heralds).

As a service minded individual, he has served in various capacities in Professional Associations like the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Association of General Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners (ANPMP), etc.
He is an expert in Medical Entrepreneurship and Healthcare Financing.

He is a skilled Physician, Teacher, Mentor, Motivator, and Coach who counsels Medical students, Residents, and colleagues. He believes in quality initiatives and processes; ever seeking to learn and relearn. He is a devout Roman Catholic and engages in modest philanthropy and community service. He also loves playing Lawn Tennis and watching Football. He is an avid supporter of Arsenal, a club, according to him “set to win the current English Premiership League and UEFA Champions League”.
