Edo monarch warns against political violence

The traditional ruler of Ikabigbo in Etsako West LGA of Edo State, Chief Alegeh Briamah, has warned his subjects against violence ahead of the 2023 general elections.

While speaking in a meeting with elders and some members of the community at the weekend, Chief Alegeh said that Ikabigbo and its people were not known for violence, hence that they should not indulge in violence as result of politics.

He said, “We are brothers and sisters in respective of political affiliations. We must tolerate ourselves because after the elections we would continue to be brothers and sisters living in the same community.

“We have never discriminated against anyone on account of political difference, and we are all out for the development of our community and as such whichever political party an individual belongs to, you have to use it to bring development to our community.”
