The police have arrested two men, Lukman Ganiyu (28) and Ojo Oluwaseum (38), for allegedly obtaining the sum of N876,000 from two women under the pretense of providing spiritual help for them in Ugbiyokho community in Edo State.
Parading the suspects, the command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabizor, said the suspects were arrested on February 2, following a case of obtaining money under false pretense reported by Mrs Joy Akhiobare and Mrs Ijeoma Blessing Kalu.
He explained that the duo went to the suspects to seek spiritual help over the collapse of their businesses.
He said, “The suspect under pretense of spiritual help deceitfully obtained N850,000 from Joy Akhiobare and N26,000 from Ijeoma Blessing Kalu.”

In an interview with journalists, one of the suspects, Ganiyu Lukeman, who hails from Ekiti State, said he only duped the women of N236,000.
