A member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and deputy National Youth Leader, of the party, Elder Tim Osadolo, has called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to suspend the National Vice Chairman, South – South, Chief Dan Orbih for Anti-Party Activities.
Osadolo told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that NWC should show Nigerians that PDP is a serious party that wants power and believe in the principle of justice, fairness and discipline.
The PDP Youth leader pointed out that the time to start sanitizing the PDP is now and the first step is to suspend Dan Orbih for saying that he would not campaign for the party in the coming Edo governorship election.
He said Orbih has benefited so much from the party and it was surprising for him to refused to work for the party’s governorship candidate in Edo State.
Narrating the sins of Orbih, Osadolo said, “A few days ago, what seemed unbelievable happened in Ugbona, the village of Dan Orbih and few hours later in Edo Central, where members of the legacy group within the PDP, led by Orbih organised a show where they declared their resolve to work against the PDP in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State.”
He also said haven served in juicy positions courtesy of the party “been a state chairman for over a decade and currently a zonal vice chairman all on the platform of the PDP. If Dan Orbih is to thank God for his life, he will start by thanking God for PDP and end by thanking God for the life of PDP.”
He therefore said it was surprising that a man of such standing will say that he will not work for the party.
According to him, “At the last NEC meeting of the PDP, a disciplinary Committee was set up by NEC. Moreso, the NEC gave the NWC powers to act on it’s behalf, pending the next NEC. Having heard the unfortunate comments by Dan Orbih, where he openly said he will not be voting or working for the PDP to win, and also asking people to do same. It is important that the NWC do the needful by wielding the big stick-on Dan Orbih and his co travellers.”
Reacting to the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, told Daily Trust that the issue is being looked into and the party would soon come out with its position on the matter.
