The Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to prevail on former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Adams Oshiomhole to stop instigating violence in the state.
Former speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Kabir Adjoto, made the call on Monday in Benin while briefing journalists on Akoko-Edo Local Government violence.
Oshiomhole and the APC have denied the allegation.

Adjoto also called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to set up crack team to investigate the violence in the area to forestall further violence on PDP members in the area.
Adjoto said the gunmen allegedly opened fire on PDP supporters at Ekpe public field during a meeting on August 28, injuring 13 persons who are receiving treatment at undisclosed hospital.
He said the attack will not deter the people but strengthen their resolve to vote for Obaseki who is on the side of the people.
“All we want is peaceful election where people will vote their conscience. So, we are calling on President Buhari, because he is a man of peace and has the capacity to prevail on Oshiomhole to stop instigating violence in the state,” he said.
Responding, the spokesperson to Oshiomole, Victor Oshioke, denied the allegations, stressing that the former governor is a man of peace.
He said Oshiomhole only uses persuasion, oratory power and performance to win election and not violence.
“In all his election, he has never used violence, why will he use violence now,”
“Even if Adjoto had to lie, it will not change the fact that Oshiomhole has no hand in violence. It is Adjoto that is known for perpetrating violence anywhere he go to,” he said.
