Clem Agba, a former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning under former President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday picked his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket ahead of Edo governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 21, for the election, while the APC primary poll holds on February 17.
A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, Henry Idahagbon, purchased the forms on behalf of the former minister, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
In a related development, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), John Yakubu, has stepped down for another aspirant, Asue Ighodalo.
Yakubu announced his decision at Igueben, Igueben Local Government after a closed-door meeting with the Edo Central PDP Special Committee, headed by the former Foreign Affairs Minister, Tom Ikimi.
Speaking with journalists, Yakubu, a two-time local government chairman in the state, said he decided to step down for Ighodalo for the interest of the party.
