Edo gov’ship: APC female aspirant unveils agenda

A female governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2024 election in Edo State, Victoria Omua Amu, has unveiled her agenda on how to make life better for the people of the state if eventually given the mandate.

The female aspirant who spoke with newsmen on Monday in Abuja lamented that the bar has fallen in virtually all facets of life ranging from security, education, health to human capacity development and stressed the need to reverse the trend.

She said if she scales through the hurdles of the primaries to emerge as the party’s candidate for the election, she would eventually win and contribute her experience and commitment to re-enacting the glory days of the state.

“I shall describe my plan and effort as ‘Back to the Basics.’ We have no need for grandiose projects that cost too much to start, too much to complete and even much more to maintain. Put in one word, such projects/programmes are unsustainable.

“I will be running for the nomination of my party for election to the office of governor of Edo State. This is a solemn quest for me. My government will design and implement a robust sports and cultural calendar with the objective of re-building our tourism industry. My style is collaborative and consensus building,” she said.
