The Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said it has arrested 1,474 motorists for traffick violations in the state.
The state FRSC Sector Commander, Paul Okpe, disclosed this in Benin City in a chat with City and Crime.
He said the offenders were arrested between January and April across the state.
Okpe said the corps arrested 392 in the month of January, 405 in February, 317 in March while 360 were arrested in April.

“The offenders were arraigned in a mobile court and fine accordingly by the court for various offences.
He said the most common traffic violation in the state include fire extinguisher, failure to install speed limiting device, tyre violation, seat belt use violation, overloading, over route violation, use of phone while driving among others
According to him, the arrest and arraignment in mobile court would serve as a determent to other drivers who are in the habit of violating traffick on the road
Okpe however charged motorists in the state to adhere to traffic rules and regulations as well as maintaining discipline on the road.
