The kidnapped chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ward 9, Orhionmwon Local Government, Edo State, Mr Godwin Aigbogun has regained his freedom.
It was gathered that Aigbogun who was kidnapped on Monday, on his way back from his farm in Ologbo-nugu escaped from the kidnapper’s den.

The kidnappers were said to have demanded N5 million ransom from the victim’s family before effecting his release but he was able to escape without ransom payment.
Our reporter could not get a confirmation from the state police command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwanbuzor, as calls to his phone were not answered.
However, the Edo state publicity secretary of APC, Peter Uwadiae, confirmed his escape.
“He escaped out of sheer bravery, he was able to manoeuvre his way out of their den. That is what I have gathered from the people in the community.
“Although I haven’t been able to speak with him directly, the latest news we got this morning is that he has escaped from the kidnapper’s den without any ransom,” he said.
