The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Samuel Odukoya, has said seven people died in road accidents across Edo State during the Christmas period.
Odukoya said in Benin yesterday that the accidents caused injuries to 91 people, and that some of the accidents occurred at night along the Benin bypass.
He said the command had earlier deployed 407 regular marshals and 1,500 Special Marshals to the highways to ensure safe driving, and warned motorists to always ensure that their vehicles were in good condition.
Odukoya advised motorists to be extra careful, especially while driving at night, and to avoid over-speeding.
