‘Edo 6,000 BPD modular refinery 95% completed’

The Chairman, Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company, Michael Osime, has said that the 6,000 barrels per day modular refinery being built in the state has reached over 95 percent mechanical completion and would soon be commissioned.

He disclosed this when a federal government delegation visited the project site at Ologbo, Ikpoba Local Government Area of the state.

Osime, who was represented by the company’s Global Advisor, Frans Ojielu, said refinery when completed will refine diesel, fuel oil and naptha.

“We have reached an advanced stage in the refinery development where we have to introduce hydrocarbon. We have applied to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to supply crude to the refinery on phase one. In addition, we have also commenced crude supply discussion with marginal field owners as the refinery is designed to use various grades of crude,” he said.
