The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu lost his local government to governor Godwin Obaseki of the People’s Democratic Party.
According to the result declared by the local government returning officer, Obaseki polled 13,445 votes to defeat Ize-Iyamu who scored 10,458 votes.
Obaseki defeated Ize-Iyamu with a margin of 2,287 votes

Daily Trust reports that with this result, Obaseki has won in 12 local government while Ize-lyamu wins in five local government.
