‘Economic city will attract 50 companies, create jobs’

The Benue State Government has said the planned establishment of an economic city would attract at least 50 companies to boost various market activities for industrialisation to thrive in the state and create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.

Special Adviser to the Benue State governor on International Investment, Alex Addingi, who disclosed this during a press conference in Makurdi, said plans had been concluded to hold an economic summit in partnership with some foreign investors, particularly the Chinese investors in November 2024 in order to bring the ideas to fruition.

He said that the summit would pave the way for the establishment of an economic city in Benue State where international and domestic investors would have complete access to do business in the state.

“There will be good production, farm accessories and other infrastructural development that could boost industrialisation of the state,” he said.
