Ebonyi targets 1.1m for yellow fever vaccination

Ebonyi State Government said it is targeting to vaccinate about 1.1million persons against yellow fever.

The vaccination will take place Izzi, Ebonyi and Abakiliki local government areas where the disease was recorded last month.

Those targeted are from ages nine months to 44 years.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umezurike who made this known to journalists on Friday, explained that the mass vaccination would last for 10 days.

Dr. Umezurike noted that the immunization would not be a house to house activity, hence urged residents to go to the nearest designated posts for the vaccine.
