The Secretary to Ebonyi state government, and Coordinating Commissioner, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, has resigned from office to pursue his senatorial ambition.
He disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Abakaliki, the state capital.

His resignation came after a closed-door consultation meeting with the Ebonyi State Working Committee (SWC) of the APC at the party’s secretariat, Abakaliki.
Ugbala is aspiring to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone come 2023.
Ugbala, who had served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) as well as commissioner in Governor David Umahi’s administration, before his elevation to Secretary to State Government, said he would ensure effective and efficient representation if elected senator, come 2023.
On his resignation, Mr Ugbala said he had the full knowledge of the new electoral law, and had taken all necessary steps to obey it, including tendering his resignation letter to the appropriate authority.
