But, the command noted that the Armed men who came with a sienna car attacked commuter buses, tricycle and motorcycles.

“They burnt down 3 commuter buses, 4 motorcycles and 1 tricycle. No life was lost,” she stated.

SP Onovwakpoyeya further assured residents of the area that tactical team from the state headquarters, Abakiliki have been dispatched to fish out the actors behind the crime.

“Operatives of the Command have been dispatched to the scene and it environs to fish out the perpetrators.

“And we believe that before the end of the day, the perpetrators will be apprehended”,she noted.

However, the action of the group which was aimed at  creating fear in the minds of residents, were armed with AK-47.

This is not the first time armed group of IPOB have taken such drastic measures to enforce the sit-at-home order, essentially in some parts of Ohaukwu local government area where the acclaimed leader Mr. Friday Ekpa hails from.

However, movement and business activities have  gradually returned after shop owners, motorists and residents flee the area on early hours on Monday.

Recall that members of the indigenous people of Biafra had through social media threatened to cause mayhem if any state in the south east zone violated their Monday’s sit-at-home order.

This as gathered by Daily Trust was to sabotage the 63rd independence celebration in the zone. This year’s independence celebration/27 anniversary of Ebonyi state creation took place for the first time at the premises of the new governor’s office Centenary city.

Although, the exercise which was done in a low key witnessed a parade by members of the Nigerian police force and had two former governors, Sen. Sam Egwu and Chief Martin Elechi in attendance.
