Governor Dave Umahi had on Friday evening made an unscheduled visit to the area to ascertain the level of destruction caused by the landslide and pleaded with the people of the area to accept the government’s plan in recovering the land.
Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that the federal government had recently approved plans to assist in the reconstruction of the retaining wall of the Ebunwana-Ekoli Edda road which collapsed during the slides.
Umahi commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the immediate approval of his request for intervention and appealed for understanding by residents of the area to enable the government to handle the situation.
