Ebonyi gov’t to invest N7.2bn in basic education

Ebonyi State government says it has mapped out how N7.2 billion will be invested in basic education in the state.

The Special Adviser to Governor David Umahi on Internal Security and Public Utilities, Saint Nchekwube Anakor,  who dropped this hint at Ebonyi State University’s Staff Secondary School, Abakaliki, said the money is targeted for state-owned primary and secondary schools across the 13 local government areas of the state.

Anakor explained that construction work would be in phases beginning from this month and that quarters for teachers, hostel accommodation for students, classrooms, reading desks, including retraining of teachers were major areas of concentration.
