Ebubeagu security outfit has apprehended 15 suspected criminals terrorising residents of Abakiliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

The suspects were arrested by the vigilante group at their different hideout in the Abakiliki metropolis.

The Special Assistant to Governor David Umahi on Internal Security, Mr Eze Ikechukwu Patrick, told newsmen that four locally made pistols were recovered from the suspects.

Our correspondent, who saw the suspects when they were being moved to the state’s police headquarters, observed that the hoodlums were interrogated by the vigilante group.

“The boys are the major suspects that are terrorizing the state and we apprehended them yesterday night with four locally made pistols recovered from some of them.

“You can see, we handed them over to the police for further investigation.

“They are 15 in number but we still have others left and when arrested, we will equally hand them over to police again.

“They were arrested at Gariki burial ground while other ones are arrested at the centenary city. None of them is a student.

“Most of them are cultists and we have handed them over to the police,” he explained.
