The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged Christians to pray for peace, security, and economic recovery for Nigeria during the Easter celebration.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Professor Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the ACF expressed solidarity with everyone during the holy season, characterised by God’s grace and mercy.
The statement acknowledged the challenging times faced by Nigerians due to economic, social, and political difficulties, including insecurity.
The ACF emphasised the importance of maintaining hope and not succumbing to despair, especially during tough times.
It, therefore, called on the Christian community to pray fervently for peace, security, and economic recovery in Nigeria.
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in an Easter message conveyed by his spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan, emphasised the importance of forgiveness during the Easter period. He urged people to let go of anger and resentment, as forgiveness leads to inner peace and harmony. Aiyedatiwa encouraged love and patriotic commitment among the people, highlighting the significance of love as emphasised in the scriptures for promoting peace and development in the state.
In Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki urged Christians not to lose hope despite economic challenges. He encouraged them to reflect on the lessons of Easter and renew their determination to contribute to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity through unity and resilience.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, expressed optimism about overcoming economic trials. He highlighted initiatives such as gratuity payments, free surgeries, and food security programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and traders in the state.
