Easter: FRSC deploys 513 personnel

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue State has deployed 513 personnel on roads across the state ahead of the Easter celebration.

Benue State’s Sector Commander, Yakubu Mohammed, said the staff were deployed to ensure safety rules during Easter.

He said the number comprised the nine units of FRSC attached to the command in the state. “We will ensure a hitch-free Easter period,” he said.

Mohammed added that there would be mobile courts set up in the nine locations in the state including one in Makurdi which will bring the number to 10.

The FRSC commander also warned drivers against overloading and appealed to passengers to add their voice in speaking against unnecessary overloading of vehicles.

He said the command will continue to enforce traffic rules and ensure that offenders are punished to serve as deterrent to others who would want to disobey the laws.
