Golden Eaglets striker, Wisdom Ubani has expressed confidence that despite failing to win the 2019 AFCON in Tanzania, the team will go and conquer the world at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Brazil.

Speaking in Abuja, the striker said the team was not destined the win the Africa U-17 Championship in Tanzania.

He said the Eaglets are made up of good players and coaches but the ‘Almighty Allah had written that they were not going to win the AFCON trophy’.

The striker therefore called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the team as they prepare to go and atone for the AFCON miss in Brazil.

“The team in Tanzania was good. We have good players and quality coaches but it was written we were not going to win the AFCON.

“However, I am assuring every Nigerian that by the grace of Almighty Allah, we would go and bring the World Cup to Nigeria,” he assured.

Ubani also mentioned the team’s semi-final clash with Guinea as their most difficult match in Tanzania.

He added that before the championship in Brazil, he would sharpen his goalscoring skills in order to help the team come tops at the youth championship.

“Most difficult match for me was Guinea because they were outstanding too. They came out to play. They were physical and everything just went the way God had written it,” he said.
