Speaking to Trustsports, the former U-17 assistant coach said the players in the team’s camp are in high spirit as they look forward to the important clash at the Abuja national Stadium.
He said with the full complement of members of the silver winning U-17 team, the Flying Eagles camp is brimming with confidence because there is better understanding and team cohesion.
Abimbola explained that before now, most of the players had travelled abroad in search of greener pastures but most of them have returned to the team and are fighting hard for first team shirts.
He said: “I can assure you that we are ready for the Guineans. The players are in high spirits and I can tell you with confidence that our opponents won’t stop us as we go for the maximum points.
“All the same, we are still counting on God to give us victory because without God, we cannot do anything by ourselves”.
The coach maintained that even as Nigerians would not want anything less than outright victory from the team, the players will not succumb to any pressure because most of them are used to it.
