Super Eagles right back Shehu Abdullahi yesterday described the team’s camp ahead of tomorrow’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia as having a great team spirit.
The Anorthosis FC of Greece player, who greatly impressed during the course of Gernot Rohr’s team two-legged tie against Cameroon last month, kept updating his social media followers with pictures from yesterday’s training session in Uyo.
The ex-Kano Pillars defender also noted that the team are focused on the task at hand, knowing fully well that a victory over the Chipolopolo of Zambia will guarantee a ticket to next year’s Mundial in Russia.
“We are focused, what a great team spirit.” Abdullahi wrote on twitter alongside a picture of himself and fellow defender William Troost Ekong practicing speedy ball passing.
Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel yesterday redeemed his pledge of $10,000 per goal for the matches against Cameroon to the Super Eagles, while calling on the three time African champions to go all out for a win against Zambia on Saturday and expect ‘a handsome reward’ from him.
Governor Emmanuel had promised the players the sum of $10,000 for every goal, two days before their clash with the African champions, whom the Eagles walloped 4-0 in Uyo on the first day of September, before earning a 1-1 draw with the Lions in Yaounde three days later.
