A middle-aged man was killed by a driver suspected to be drunk and driving near a night club at the Awolowo Junction, Bodija, Ibadan, on Saturday night.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), Dr. Akin Fagbemi, who disclosed this on Sunday in Ibadan said the agency had impounded 10 vehicles at night clubs and other spots over offences bothering on illegal parking.
The authority reiterated its warning against reckless driving and illegal parking at clubs and fun spots at night.
Dr. Fagbemi said the victim, who was a resident of the area, was rushed to a nearby hospital after the accident around 12:00am on Friday night but died because of the blockade caused by indiscriminate parking of vehicles at the club house.
Fagbemi, therefore, urged the people to ensure that they did not constitute blockage on the roads whenever they parked vehicles.
