A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced two of the drugs suspects charged alongside suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, to six years imprisonment.

Justice Emeka Nwite handed down the sentence to the defendants, Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne, who were charged with drug trafficking.

The convicts had pleaded guilty after their arraignment on February 22 alongside Kyari, ACP Sunday Ubua, ASP Bawa James, Inspectors Simon Agirigba, John Nuhu, while ASP John Umoru, who is said to be at large.

Justice Nwite had remanded the police officers to the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Suleja, Niger State, while the police officers were remanded at the centre in Kuje.

They pleaded guilty to the three count charges that attracts two years punishment each. The judge, however, said the sentence will run concurrently making it two years in all.
