Parents have been called upon to keep an eye on their children with a view to safeguarding them away from engaging in drug abuse in order to have brighter future and successful generations.
Odeyiani of Ebira Community in Kano and Jigawa states made the call at the celebration of his 25th year on the throne and the commissioning of Ebira House in Kano over the weekend.
“I want to enjoin all parents to give attention to their children in order to check their tendency of going into drug abuse and other social vices currently disturbing our society” the Ebira leader stated.
He said he was happy with the good relationship existing between the Ebira people and their host communities in the state, adding that the peaceful atmosphere led to the creation of Onoba (Mai Unguwa) in Kano that was approved by the Kano Emirate Council.
The commissioned Ebira House has facilities for meetings, ceremonies and guest rooms and a secretariat for the umbrella organisation, the Ebira People’s Organisation (EPO), which was also launched at the gathering.
