The program, according to the coordinator, Hajiya Hadiza Ismail, is designed to train teachers and head of schools on child to child methods, use of instructional materials, child development and learning styles, learning through play as well as leadership and self development of the early child education teachers in the state.
Additionally, participants are also expected to learn working with parents and communities in running the ECCD projects, health, safety and hygiene in ECCD education and organisation of ECCD centres in their schools.
The coordinator disclosed that 25 schools and head of schools are expected to participate in the training, adding that already, 20 participants have indicated interest to partake in the training exercise.
‘We expect at the end of the training teachers and heads of schools will be trained on effective ECCD methods that will improve the learning process of their pupils and enhance their capacity’, she said.
