Drop proposed hike in call rate

The report in major newspapers across the country of impending hike in call rates is scary to say the least.  This is because at the moment, the cost of living is generally high. Many people are unable to take care of their basic needs and aside from that, many of those who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic are yet to secure new ones.  This is aside from the costs of goods and services which have significantly gone up.

Most people cannot afford three square meals and some parents have had to ask their children to stop going to school due to lack of funds to pay the fees.  The burden people are carrying now is a lot, therefore, adding another increment in the area of call rate to the mix will only make matters worse for the masses.

I plead with the government to rethink this decision.
