Drone attack: Kaduna gov flags off road, hospital construction in Tudun Biri

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has flagged off the construction of a 5.5-kilometre road linking Tudun Biri community in Igabi LGA with the Kaduna International Airport.

The project followed the tragic incident on December 3, 2023, when the Nigerian Army accidentally bombed the community during a Maulud celebration resulting in the loss of at least 120 lives for which the army took responsibility and issued an apology.

In response, governors, federal lawmakers and other concerned Nigerians contributed significant funds for the community’s reconstruction and support for the victims.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, Governor Sani stated that the road project would improve access for the farming community, facilitating the sales of agricultural produce.

He also inaugurated skills acquisition and Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to serve Tudun Biri and neighbouring villages affected by the military drone attack.

He said, “Two days after the unfortunate drone accident, I promised the people of Tudun Biri that by the grace of God we would improve the infrastructure of the village, build a road for them, construct a hospital, as well as a skills acquisition centre. By the grace of God, today we are here to fulfil our promise.”

Alhaji Aminu Idris, the District Head of Rigasa, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community for the governor’s fulfilment of his promise.
