Driving N70m SUVs is wrong for lawmakers – Isyaku Ibrahim

The quest for Senators and members of the House of Representatives of the federal government to provide them with funds to buy Sports Utility Vehicles amounting to N70m is scandalous.

This is according to a foremost politician, Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim.

“Members of the National Assembly, ( NASS ) should know that they have been voted into office to work for the growth and development of the country and not otherwise.

“Instead of buying an SUV of that amount, they should know that N70million could be used to educate children and provide healthcare facilities to the elderly in each constituency.

“Lawmakers, please don’t drive those cars that would benefit only you and be a means of oppression against the electorate given the present condition of the people.

“There is no country in the world that its lawmakers are scandalous, spending national money like members of the Nigeria national assembly,” he said.

Buhari has so many problems

Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim however said that, he will support and campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari as an honest man, that he cannot abandon him, but that he has so many problems, he took an oath to protect the people, he allowed Ministers who are not performing for five years, he should reshuffle his cabinet with people who would perform.

The Politician called on Nigerians to understand its problem and address it as each country in the World has its own peculiar problem which is better than the craving for arestructuring of the country as nobody participated in the amalgamation of 1914.
