Driver, son, 2 others found dead in room, 8 others in comma

A driver to the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Imo East in the 2023 general elections identified as Kingsley and his three family members have been found dead in a room.

The three others are one of his children, his sister in law and another relative.

Eight other relatives found unconscious are battling for their lives at Imo Specialist Hospital, Umuguma- Owerri.

The incident happened at Obinze community in the Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday.

The cause of the incident has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

The house where the incident happened is said to be a 12-room duplex.

When our correspondent visited the hospital, Kingsley’s wife was one of those said to be still unconscious and on life support. 

Media Aide to Onyeagucha, Macdonald Enwere, who confirmed the incident, said the driver was to pick his principal from the airport but could not be reached. 

Police spokesman, Micheal Abattam, said that the incident had not been reported at the command.
